Work to Date.

The Ashburton District Council has been very busy in the past year in the lead up to the Stage 1 contract award with a number of local infrastructural developments having occurred during this time. Some of the larger elements of this work have included;.

• Construction of the water main between the Ashburton public water supply and the Business Estate.

• The almost complete construction of 3.16km of wastewater pipeline from the Business Estate to the Ashburton public wastewater system.

• The upgrading of the State Highway 1 intersections at Northpark Road and Works Road.

• Internal site clearance involving the removal of non required buildings, fences and trees. Consistent with the development board and councils desire to be ecologically friendly and a good neighbour was the decision that all trees felled on site would be “chipped” and the material used in landscaping work where appropriate.

• Obtaining subdivision consent and the complete design of all the services inside the Business Estate.
